The compass plant is another species closely related to the cup plant and the prairie dock, with small sunflowers on tall stalks. The leaves are in a cluster at the base like prairie dock, but in the compass plant, they resembled stiff upright ferns. Like the cup plant, compass plants need 6-8 hours of sunlight to bloom properly. The prairie dock does better with drier soil and is quite drought tolerant once established. Seeds do best if planted in the fall, as in our Group B plant list.

They are a great attractor of bees and also birds, who come in fall to eat the seeds.

Price is per 10 seeds. Can be mailed within Ontario with no fees.
