Anise hyssop is a lovely native plant. As a member of the mint family it typically grows pretty well in any environment. It has an upright clumping habit, but can spread via the roots so it can eventually fill in bigger areas. A highlight of this plant are the beautiful pink to purple flower spikes that attract bees and butterflies. An added bonus for those who like licorice is that when rubbed gently, the leaves give off a nice licorice scent and can be dried to use in teas.
The seeds are tiny so handle carefully upon opening. Seed packets contain 10 seeds.
